Believe it or not, over the past six years (since our very first label release in 2013) I haven’t put together a label showcase mix. However, this year I find myself sitting on an amazing amount of upcoming music, so when MNMT Podcast asked me to put together a label mix, I went all in. I tend to hold on to previewing upcoming music, so it makes me a little nervous to put this out there but hopefully you all get a sense of the amazing albums we have coming up.
60% of the music in this mix is upcoming on ASIP, so get ready for some new and exciting moments alongside some familiar sounds…

It's 2017. It's almost February. Over the past six-or-so months, someone's been digging away at every corner of the web to find that perfect track for his infamous mix series. It's not an easy task as you'll know by his Cold Shoulders mix; plenty of music falls by the wayside in the process. It's what makes each edition of todos' Kilchurn Sessions that much more curated, synchronized and free-flowing than most of the mixes out there.
This time, todos returns with some familiar faces to fall out the 2016 music hall of fame, including the melodic synths of Steve Hauschildt and Jonathan Fitoussi, two of ASIP's own, in Lav & Purl and 36, a new one from series stalwart Negative Neutron, and plenty of todos' trademark edits, overlapping textures and bursting mixing creativity.

Lav & Purl have existed as individual artists for a while now, with both making appearances on the collective Dewtone, and Purl also contributing his unique, melodic pulsing ambience on Silent Season, with the much loved album, 'Stillpoint'.
The Present Moment is the second release by the duo, after the recently released EP 'Earth And Beyond' on their own label, Amone Recordings. This delicate, nurtured track, combines beautiful sound recordings from Lav (Christopher Landin) alongside piano and drifting melodies from Purl, (Ludvig Cimbrelius). I won't get into much further detail on this track however, as it's the start of something much bigger...
This track was a part of a larger album originally, but earned its own release as it distinguished itself from the other tracks with a softer, calmer atmosphere. The remaining tracks from this production will form ASIP's seventh vinyl release, titled 'A State Of Becoming' and arriving in early 2017 on double vinyl.
So, here's a taster of what's to come!
