Upcoming artists One Million Eyes head to London to support Gigi Masin
The Venetian ambient musician presents his new album: Calypso, music of the gods, goddesses and heroes, capturing the celestial beauty of an epic saga.
The LP is inspired by the mythical Greek island of Ogygia and its alleged real-life counterpart Gavdos – also known as Calypso – a place of extreme beauty.
The aqueous and sky-filled vistas of Gigi Masin’s native Venice are also intrinsic to the record, but the best way to describe the sound of Calypso might be simply ‘Aegean’.
Every track takes you vividly to timeless Greek beauty, glistening seas, picturesque landscapes and the sun’s bright, balmy heat.
The album – like the island itself – intrigues, hinting at the dark and dangerous, made mellow with centuries of age, but still present beneath the surface.
Support comes from One Million Eyes.
One Million Eyes, previously known as Tempelhof, experienced a pivotal and personal moment in their lives which inspired a reset in their approach to music. Their transition could be explained as seeking a new music style, a new ambition, or new influences, but simply put, they wanted to get back to enjoying making music again.
