Rob Dowell – Figment Fragments

A mix that made my Monday from WarmArt’s, Rob Dowell.

Warm Art are an Atlanta based DJ collective, specialising in all types of electronic music, but with an initial focus on the “the art of the warm up”. Rob’s set is said to be inspired by several of the isolatedmix’s which have been featured on ASIP over the past few months, evident by the inclusion of Solar Fields, the Winterlight remix of Bitcrush (featured in isolatedmix14) and of course, Tripswitch‘s ‘Strange Parallel’s’. But don’t let the familiarity put you off; Rob keep’s a really nice solid run to this set, with big atmospheric downtempo tracks all tidily blended together and some recognisable favourites including the classic, Gorecki by Lamb and that brilliant track by Rocket Empire. Rob also has quite a few more downtempo mixes to keep you busy, should this leave you craving for more.

If the isolatedmix series can inspire great sets such as this one, then I for one am a happy chappy.

Download.

  1. Anything that has that Winterlight remix sure catches my eye. Great also to hear Gorecki in a mix too.
Nice, this is very nice, warm and fuzzy.
    More happy chappies methinks.

It made my otherwise boring excel-job feel like pure art… Espesially the last track really touched me!
