I recently stumbled across a lovely ambient mix by Anders Ilar so thought I’d take the opportunity to post a few bits by the Swedish maestro, just in case any of you are yet to explore one of music’s most under-rated producers…
Full-on ambient up first, with his live set from 2010′s Supynes festival in Lithuania. Textbook textures from Anders; soaring waves of distortion and epic climaxes.

Compare that to his productions, (albeit three years old), his 2008 album, Twilight Rainfalls is significantly more upbeat, instrumental and melodic, with some tracks dipping their toes into dub-techno. The stand out release from this album has to be ‘Rain in all Familiar Places’, featured on Kilchurn Session V, its subtle glitchy beat combines with a beautiful, drowning piano piece.
