Normally, it’s the best track that’s released out into the big bad music world as a promo video, but not in this instance. I was excited after listening to just the first track on blog favourite Dextro’s latest release, but as with all good EP’s, more was in store.
Containing an electronic tinged remix by The Village Orchestra, Dextro’s latest EP, Zero Circle, also features a live version of Ring Cycle. An additional piano layer adds to the existing dramatic feel, taking the track to a completely different level. If ever there was a good example of setting expectations for your live performances and adding value to an EP, including a live version that trumps the original does wonders. It’s just a shame I cant find the live version of Ring Cycle to put on here. You may just have to buy it!
Check out Dextro’s site for more info on his latest album Winded and for several free live sets to download. Oh, and I forgot to mention, the video for Ring Cycle is half the reason I wanted to post it on the blog – amazing!
***UPDATE***
Dextro have now made the whole EP available for free download – get the infamous ‘Live’ version i’ve just been banging on about (along with the rest of the EP!)
