Sorry for the lack of activity this past week, I’ve been holed away with little chance to get online. But it seems like i’ve returned to some exciting news. Two of my favourite artists, Ulrich Schnauss and Jonas Munk (aka Manual) have been working on a new collaborative album, set for release Spring 2010. The record will be released on Pedigree Cuts and from the samples on the Pedigree Cuts blog, we’re in for something special. On first listen it seems the tracks have been heavily influenced by the Manual sound we have come to love, but as proved on ‘Missing Deadlines’, Ulrich’s synth subtlety is normally his virtue.
“The sound of the guitars on the record are mainly the Fender based including Jonas’s slim line Telecaster and his moded Jazzmaster. Guitars when amped where recorded through a Fender Twin. Ulrich’s synth palette include, for the 70’s influenced tracks, the CP80 and the Korg PS3200 and for the 80’s and 90’s inspired tracks he chose the polyphonic Oberheim OB8 and Oberheim OBX for the basis of the tracks.”
The album comprises of 11 tracks with 4 alternate versions. Pedigree cat PED_A010
1. Chasing rainbows
2. Coming up for air
3. Johnny (sentimental fool)
4. Costa
5. Weightless memories
6. Sirocco
7. Sonnenblumenstrahl
8. Made of sky
9. In Odense you can walk anywhere
10. Leaves of grass
11. In Odense you can walk anywhere (part 2)
