Miss Dinky is Flaking Ambient

I went through a stage a few years ago where i became obsessed with Traum Schallplatten. A German label that consistently delivered deep melodic techno, a roster of artists who featured regularly, and a compilation series (Interkontinental) that would still give Kompakt’s ‘Total’ a run for their money. It’s also the label responsible for introducing me to Jesse Somfay, Process, Nathan Fake, Minilogue, Fairmont and Miss Dinky.

Miss Dinky released one of the more ambient albums during Traum’s early days, ‘Melodias Venenosas’ (TraumCD05). A stunning mix of dark, dubby techno bubbling with melody.  Since then, Alejandra Iglesias has gone on to release mixes for Crosstown Rebels, as part of the ‘Get Lost‘ series (recommended if you like twisted dark journeys from the minds of chaps like Damian Lazarus) and releases on techno big shots Cocoon and Wagon Repair.

2010 sees miss Dinky turn out an ambient mix sprinkled with techno influences. Maybe not one for the shoegazers out there, but if like me you went through a phase of buying every single Traum vinyl release from 001 to 067 (then run out of money and have to ration Traum vinyl spending), and love ambient music (anyone?!), then this is one for you.
